Dangerous Goods Sea Freight

Assess packaged dangerous goods by sea against the IMDG Code and shipping line/port requirements. FCL or LCL acceptance, documents, packaging, schedule and destination port scope require confirmation for each shipment.

Export services for companies in China

GENORDA provides chemical and dangerous goods export services for companies in China, with Hong Kong as its core operating hub. Customers can request an assessment without choosing a departure gateway in advance.

Who can enquire?

Chemical businesses, research companies, traders and laboratories in mainland China can submit cargo information for assessment.

Where is the work performed?

Mainland coordination is arranged per project through Shenzhen Kangjienuoda International Logistics Co., Ltd. or the actual executing party. GENORDA handles Hong Kong operations within its actual service and permission scope.

How is the destination assessed?

Each shipment is reviewed for classification, quantity, packaging, recipient import readiness and carrier requirements. Mainland pickup area, vehicle qualifications, handover point and fees require separate confirmation.

BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE

Service suitability and enquiry checklist

Review these conditions before preparing an enquiry. Preliminary review, carrier acceptance and a final quotation are separate steps. This page covers assessment of packaged dangerous goods by sea. It does not guarantee acceptance by any shipping line, port or consolidator. An expected schedule and a written delivery commitment must be confirmed separately.

Suitable clients

  • Chemical businesses and traders whose volumes or cost structure justify reviewing sea freight and who can prepare documents before vessel deadlines.
  • Customers seeking full-container-load (FCL) or less-than-container-load (LCL) assessment; LCL depends on acceptance of the goods and compatible consolidation.
  • Customers needing coordination for packaged dangerous goods, port handover, declaration and shipping line review; bulk cargo is not automatically covered by this service.

Documents and cargo details

  • For each product, provide the MSDS, UN number, proper shipping name, primary/subsidiary hazards and applicable packing group.
  • Provide packaging types, inner/outer package quantities, carton/drum/pallet count, dimensions, total net/gross weight and packaging photos.
  • Provide origin/port, destination port, consignee and trade terms, preferred FCL/LCL arrangement and cargo-ready date.
  • Provide the invoice, packing list and existing packaging inspection/export records; prepare dangerous goods transport documents and the container packing certificate where applicable.

Review steps

  1. Review hazards, packaging, marine pollutant status and applicable special provisions against the IMDG entry.
  2. Confirm acceptance by the shipping line, ports and destination; review FCL and LCL separately.
  3. Check container packing, stowage, segregation and road handover requirements, and assign document and handling responsibilities.
  4. Confirm document/cargo cut-offs, expected sailing schedule, destination delivery scope and costs before booking.

Possible reasons for refusal

  • The shipping line or port may reject the entry, packaging form or route.
  • Insufficient classification, packaging evidence or declaration information, or a mismatch with the goods, requires completion or correction.
  • Incompatible cargo, inadequate segregation, leaking packages or unsuitable container packing may prevent loading.
  • The current service does not accept explosives, toxic gases, infectious substances or radioactive material; bulk or special cargo requires a separate resource check.

Cost components

  • Confirm ocean freight by FCL container type/count or the applicable LCL charging basis, route and quotation validity.
  • Itemise dangerous goods surcharges, booking/document fees, container loading/unloading and packaging corrections.
  • Define collection, applicable dangerous goods road transport, port handling, customs services and destination port charges under the agreed trade terms.
  • State the conditions and payer for detention, demurrage, storage, inspections, insurance and duties/taxes; do not assume they are included in ocean freight.

Rule sources

Checked on

· This date records the check of public rule sources and the service conditions described on this page. The rules in force and carrier confirmation apply to each shipment.

After preparing your cargo details, share them by WeCom or email. Acceptance and the final quotation require confirmation for the shipment.
