Look at the battery state before packing.
Packaging shall be determined by specific battery type and transport configuration. (b) Do not mix drum packs, leaks, damaged, recall or unknown batteries directly into normal new products; These states need to be described and evaluated separately and cannot be addressed by thickening boxes.
Four inspection directions.
| Inspection Directions | Issues to be confirmed before shipment |
|---|---|
| Short cut. | Is it possible for the endent to contact each other or to contact articles such as tools, conductive materials, etc.? |
| Collision protection | Can batteries and equipment move inside the box and can they be squeezed or damaged? |
| We're going to have to get started. | Have the equipment with batteries been put in place to prevent accidental work? |
| Charge State | Is electricity controlled in accordance with applicable transport rules and is relevant information available to reviewers? |
The FedEx guidelines emphasize measures such as end-of-pipe protection, application of inner packaging and overpack, and reduction of movement within packages. The material, the packing class and the quantity limits should remain subject to the applicable packing instructions, and an example cannot be used for all batteries.
Overcharging and "transporting power limit" are different things.
Overcharging involves the protective design of batteries and equipment; The charge state requirements for transport require separate checks. The product has protected circuits, which does not mean that it can be transported in full power.
The 2026 rule update published by IATA contains more stringent charge state requirements for lithium ion batteries packed with equipment. The same conditions cannot be applied for transport alone, packaging with the equipment and being packed in the equipment only by closeness to the name. Transport configuration and power information should be submitted to the reviewers for confirmation on a case-by-case basis prior to shipment.
What are the photos recommended for the request?
This is a list of communications photos instead of a packaging check for carrier:
- Product and battery labels, which can see model numbers and rated parameters.
- The means of protecting the endpoint or connective part of the battery.
- Packaging and the placement of batteries and equipment in boxes.
- Buffering, separation and fixation.
- The overpack, size and existing tags behind the box.
Photos should be identical to those actually shipped. If additional batteries are taken, the outer boxes are replaced or the contents are adjusted, the information used by the reviewers should be rejustified.
FAQ
Can you use an ordinary box with a lithium cell label?
The label does not prove that the packaging has satisfied the requirements. The need for UN-specified packagings and the permitted overpacks should be judged in the context of specific entries and packing instructions.
Is it enough to wrap the batteries with a lot of foam?
Buffering is just one of them. End contact, internal movement, accidental start-up of equipment, overpack performance and applicable markings are also to be considered.
Will the offer change when the packaging is complete?
The basis of the billing may also change if the outer box size, actual gross weight or packaging programme changes. It is recommended that the weight size of each box be reviewed after the final sealing of the box and compared with the conditions in the written quotation.
