List by actual contents
An electronic manufacturing enterprise may have a single shipment that includes the mainframe, a back-up battery, maintenance accessories and cleaning or adhesive materials. The mere declaration of “electronic accessories” does not provide sufficient information on the nature of the goods. It is recommended that a line-by-line check be based on the actual boxing list and that the carrier reviewer determine whether the shipment can be combined.
Three types of goods are sorted out separately.
| Goods | Suggested information | Easily missing content |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical equipment | Model, uses, battery information and installation status | Alternative batteries attached to the host |
| Individual or backup batteries | Chemical systems, models, rated parameters, applicable test information | Different models or versions are mixed in the same list |
| Chemical support. | Complete name, application of MSDS, form and packaging information | Items accompanying equipment, such as detergents and glue |
DHL electronics and Battery Transport Information indicates that lithium-containing Battery products are still subject to applicable hazardous goods requirements. The use of the product is common and does not mean that its transport properties are ordinary goods.
Create model package
It is recommended that procurement, engineering and logistics share a model-managed information package: product photographs, signposts, manufacturers, technical document versions and current container configurations should correspond to each other. Once the battery supplier has been replaced, the model has been changed or the spare parts added, the relevant information should be resubmitted and the results of the audit of the old order should not be followed.
A control table can be created for the abbreviations, suffixes and capacity units of the document. If it is not determined that it is the same product, it should be clarified by the supplier, avoiding the inference of the logistics team itself.
Separate evaluation of sample, volume and back-up
Sample orders tend to be more focused on the availability of information; Volume orders also need to take into account stable packaging sizes and delivery plans; Refurbishment and return shall state the condition of the goods. Batteries that are damaged, defective or recall may not be arranged directly under normal new conditions and are subject to confirmation of acceptable treatment by a professional.
How do we compare transport programmes?
It is recommended that acceptable channels be identified and that the following items be compared:
- Audit and availability time to meet delivery deadlines.
- The billing weight after final packaging is not the net weight of the product.
- Whether the hazardous materials operation, documentation and destination costs are included.
- Are there additional clearances or operational requirements for multi-model and multi-box orders?
- Whether the place of delivery, the receipt window and the preparation for import are clear.
Again, “10 boxes of equipment”, with different battery configurations and fittings, may be quoted on a completely different basis.
FAQ
You don't have to declare the batteries in the equipment?
That's not how it's understood. Battery information and physical configuration should be provided in a manner that determines the conditions of documentation, marking and packaging, in accordance with applicable rules and the requirements for transport.
Could the equipment and the cleaning fluid be in a box?
It is not a matter of volume savings. Full cargo information should be submitted to confirm classification, compatibility and conditions of shipment before the containerization programme is established.
Can re-engineering be done on the way out?
The failure, the presence of batteries and the return route should be re-stated. An audit at the time of the original export does not automatically represent a return to the country.
