BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE

Service suitability and enquiry checklist

Review these conditions before preparing an enquiry. Preliminary review, carrier acceptance and a final quotation are separate steps. GENORDA is an independent logistics provider; reference to FedEx does not imply official agency authorisation. Review, quotations and acceptance depend on the goods and shipment confirmation. No fixed approval time is promised.

Suitable clients

  • Exporters of small chemical consignments, research reagents and eligible dangerous goods seeking assessment of a Hong Kong FedEx service.
  • Customers whose previous channel rejected a shipment because of classification, documentation or packaging and who need the reason and possible corrections reviewed.
  • Customers with goods in mainland China who have not chosen a departure gateway; mainland handling and Hong Kong acceptance are assessed separately.

Documents and cargo details

  • For chemicals, provide a complete MSDS for each product, its CAS number or composition, and supporting UN number, proper shipping name, classification and packing group information. For other goods, provide the relevant product, risk and classification details; additional documents depend on the review and carrier requirements.
  • Quantity per inner packaging, contents per box, dimensions/gross weight and packaging/marking/label photos; applicable packaging test or performance information.
  • Shipper and recipient details, origin, destination postcode, intended use, declared value and available import permissions; invoice and packing-list information.
  • Information for a Shipper’s Declaration where required; battery product documents such as the UN38.3 test summary, or dry ice net quantity per box where relevant.
  • Proposed service and payer; check authorisation and dangerous goods service conditions before using a recipient or third-party account.

Review steps

  1. Check each product’s information and classification questions and issue a missing-information or clarification list. An MSDS is not carrier approval.
  2. Confirm availability of the FedEx service for the classification, quantity, packaging and destination, including any prior approval or account arrangements.
  3. Check the applicable packing instruction, marks, labels and documents. Where a Shipper’s Declaration is required, an appropriately qualified person signs it.
  4. For goods in mainland China, confirm pickup, export and cross-border road conditions separately before agreeing Hong Kong handover and cut-off arrangements.
  5. Following the applicable acceptance confirmation, state the charges and handover requirements. The carrier’s physical and document checks still apply at tender.

Possible reasons for refusal

  • The goods or route fall outside the selected FedEx service’s acceptance conditions; compliance with general rules does not oblige the carrier to accept them.
  • Classification or quantity is unclear, documents do not match the goods, or required documentation/signatures are inadequate.
  • Packaging is unsuitable, damaged or leaking; marks/labels are missing; or a package exceeds the applicable quantity or weight limit.
  • Destination, recipient or payer-account conditions are unmet, or a required approval or permit is outstanding.
  • The mainland leg’s authorised operators, declarations or transport arrangements cannot be confirmed; dangerous goods must not be concealed in ordinary cargo.

Cost components

  • International freight based on actual chargeable weight, destination, service and payer account.
  • Applicable dangerous goods, dry ice, fuel, remote-area and other carrier surcharges.
  • Packaging, splitting or repacking, applicable document coordination and third-party testing.
  • Mainland pickup, compliant cross-border road transfer, Hong Kong consolidation/storage and handover for the actual scope.
  • Import clearance services, duties/taxes and destination charges; the quote identifies the payer, validity and exclusions.

After preparing your cargo details, share them by WeCom or email. Acceptance and the final quotation require confirmation for the shipment.

Prepare cargo details for assessment

Direct answer

FedEx Hong Kong acceptance depends on the dangerous goods classification, quantity, packaging and destination. The shipper must correctly identify, classify, package, mark and label the goods and provide the required documents. GENORDA reviews MSDS, quantities, packaging and destination information and confirms the applicable service and shipment acceptance conditions before handover.

FAQ

Questions about Hong Kong FedEx dangerous goods services

How is Hong Kong FedEx dangerous goods acceptance confirmed?

Provide the product name, MSDS, classification evidence, quantities per box and destination, then check the specific service. Published category information is not shipment acceptance. Prohibited or restricted entries, special approvals and packaging conditions require separate checks.

Is prior approval required for Hong Kong FedEx dangerous goods?

Prior approval and account arrangements depend on classification, applicable exceptions, service and destination. GENORDA coordinates information where required. Review and clarification schedules are confirmed with the service team and carrier; no fixed approval time is promised.

What may cause a FedEx dangerous goods shipment to be refused?

Possible reasons include unresolved classification, inadequate information, unsuitable packaging or marks, missing required documents/approvals, quantity limits or unmet destination/recipient conditions. Review the carrier’s actual feedback item by item. Completing documents does not guarantee acceptance.

Can dangerous goods use FedEx International Priority?

International Priority availability depends on the shipment classification, quantity, packaging, destination and carrier conditions. Confirm available services before comparing corresponding charges and transit references.

How should FedEx and DHL dangerous goods services be compared?

Check each carrier, service and destination separately for the actual classification, quantity and packaging. Compare available options and complete charges; do not assume that either carrier accepts a wider range or has less rigorous review.

This page helps assess whether an enquiry fits the service. It is not a classification or acceptance guarantee.
